課程內容說明

The course begins from linear narrative to non-linear structure, aiming to introduce the key theories in the experimental images.  Filmmakers and artists employ the audio-visual techniques to investigate the nature of images itself, intending to explore the sensual perception beyond the visuality and expanding the realm of images. Beginning from the early European avant-garde cinema, city symphonies, to experimental films, this course focuses on the sensory perception in the spectatorship, in response to the emergence of digital art, new media, the immersive images and so on.

This course explores linear and non-linear narrative in the moving images. The classic and innovative cinematic theories, such as Edison, Georges Méliès, Maya Deren, Dziga Verotv, and new emerging narrative structures are included in this discussion. The course investigates a very wild variety of moving structures to connect the rise of new media, the upcoming subjects, and the changing sensory perception in the spectatorship.
